- April
22, 03: Dr. Saadawi and Dr. Hetata are part of an the International
Delegation to the UN that will meet with Secretary General
Kofi Anan on 30 April, 9am. The meeting will be followed by other
missions to Baghdad, Damascus, and Cairo in the period between
20 and 30 June, 2003 to meet Amr Moussa, Secretary General of
the Arab League and give him a letter similar to that of the UN.
The delegation has been formed to make prepations for the International
Peoples Tribunal to try George W. Bush for war crimes. To

- APRIL
11th, 2003: Nawal El Saadawi and Sherif Hetata will be attending
the conference at Harvard in Boston from 29 April to 4 May and
they will be speaking about religion and social change. Then they
will go to Barcelona. Nawal will be recieving the Prize (Premi
International Catalunya). Then they will go to Italy where the
novel of Nawal El Saadawi "Woman at Point Zero" will
be in the theatre in Bolongna and in Rome. They will be back in
Egypt by 21 May.

11, 03: Dr. Saadawi wins the Premi Internacional Catalunya Literary
Award
Dr.
Saadawi was informed today that she has won the prestigous Premi
Internacional Catalunya for 2003. The award is a literary award
presented annually to people who have "contributed decisively
to the development of cultural, scientific or human values around
the world."
Dr. Saadawi
will be honored in Barcelona, Spain, from 4 May to 9 May 2003
with several receptions, most notably a dinner offered by President
Pujol in the Palace of the Generalitat on the evening of 6 May.
